Pediatric Emergency Visits for Asthma Drop Significantly with COVID19 School Closure

Asthma exacerbations in children leading to emergency room (ER) visits are often cited as increasing the autumn and may be associated with weather change or pollen. Some studies reference school stress opening a factor this peak of asthma ER visits. We reporting significant decrease for hospital Detroit, Michigan correlating Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID19) closure from March 15th May 31st 2020. Total pediatric astha were collected by ICD9 code 2020 same time period children's MI. Weather data was compared both years on an online website (Weather Underground).
